Colorful

From the colorful foliage to my colorful Dad! We had a wonderful day.

I took Ilana exploring downtown Port Townsend. It was great to visit with so many people in town today. Soon I will be spending more time in town.... I will be showing my work in one of the local galleries. It will be fun visiting with friends at the gallery walks which occur the first Saturday of the month.... More info on this in the next month or so....

Looking forward to another day of exploration tomorrow.....

Ilana is here!

Our great friend Ilana arrived today! We are so excited to have her here. Ilana is from Israel and we have been lucky enough to see each other 3 times this year. If you go back in my blog posts you will see photos from when I visited her in Tel Aviv. We are looking forward to doing all kinds of fun things this week.

Of course our first stop was Wild Ginger in Seattle. It is mine and Whit's favorite restaurant. If you find yourself in Seattle be sure and check it out!

It was pretty cool... there were 3 tables right next to each other all with Port Townsend people eating there.... a small world it is!

We had some fragrant duck....

this is a photo of seven flavor beef....

and for dessert a homemade macaroon ice cream sandwich with a homemade chocolate dipping sauce. The only thing missing today was Kathy D!

Today when the clouds cleared over the Olympic mountains it revealed the first snow of the year......

Light

I feel like I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

I went to see my surgeon today and had my cast removed and hand x-rayed. He said that things couldn't have gone better.... great news to my ears! I got fitted with a new cast that can be removed for therapy and showers... so freeing!

So that's my update for today! Oh I went to the movies with friends tonight and saw the movie

Stormy?

There has been a storm brewing in our area but it seems to have missed us. We had some heavy winds the other night and out on the coast they have had 40' waves! These first two photos remind me of the calm before the storm..... maybe it will hit us after all!

Whit captured this beautiful red color while out on his walk today. There is still a lot of fall color left around our area.

I'm looking forward to a great week and really looking forward to having Ilana visiting with us for a week.... we have all kinds of fun things planned.

Friday!

YAY! It has been a week since my surgery.

Today was a great day. Several friends dropped by to say hello, had a massage and am going to a friends home for a girls night out dinner.

Life is Good

Some of my furry friends stopped by to see how I was feeling today, I know they didn't stop by just for the food......

I haven't felt much like getting out today, didn't even go to the farmers market today!

So I just played some more with the hipstamatic app on my iPhone taking photos around the house.





I wonder how much longer these flowers will be around..... Today was just a perfect weather kind of day

Playing a bit with the hipstamatic app on my iPhone that Kathy D turned me on to.... if you have an iPhone buy this app and get the other lens and film! It is so much fun to play with.

Made it!

Before....



About ready to go into surgery....



After..... Everything went just perfect. Now if I could just time warp to 3 months from now!

Whit is taking fantastic care of me as usual! He is making homemade chicken soup for me as I type. Thank you Sweetie, I love you.

And my awesome friend Marlene dropped by with chocolate and flowers! What a dear friend she is..... Thank you Marlene!

Hands

This week will be about hands..... tomorrow I am going in for some hand surgery. I am having thumb arthroplasty and carpal tunnel surgery done on my left hand. Basically they are going to remove one of the bones in my thumb and replace it with some tendons from my forearm... then do the carpal tunnel while they are there.... So for now I probably won't have many bead or jewelry photos but do plan on getting out and taking lots of photos!

Will keep you posted on how it's going......

Playing with leather

A friend came over today and we played in the studio. I saw a charm in the sundance catalog this week that said "live the life you love". I truly believe in this saying and decided that I would make a bracelet today using it.

First I made my charms...

Riveted some jump rings on the ends of some leather that I had cut out... laid out the charms to get my spacing just right..

And the finished bracelet.... I have so many other ideas running through my head. I am looking forward to a few more days of playing in my studio before my hand surgery.
