The Glass Furnace - Turkey

I thought I would share with you a little about where I am. This is the back entrance to The Glass Furnace.... The school is very very similar to Pilchuck. There are rooms for lampworking, coldworking, fusing, casting, silversmithing, and more that I am not thinking about at the moment. There are 3 furnaces here and 4 glory holes.. There is a very nice gallery here as well. Also there is a cafeteria ..... so if you are staying you have 3 meals a day...

This is just as you walk in the back entrance... looking to the left..

and looking to the right... and around this corner are the furnaces... I will try and take some photos tomorrow of this area..

This is the student living area...

the inside of my room...

There is artwork everywhere!!!!!

This is the Riva river..... it will take you to the Black Sea which is just about 2 miles away..... I will try and go there on Saturday to at least put my foot in the water!

Have a great day everyone! Sweetie I miss you so much.......

These are my students from my first class.... we had so much fun, what a great group of woman...... so much fun to share my knowledge with them~

This restaurant was amazing!!!! I should of taken some photos of the food! Of course I had lamb..... my favorite! In this photo is Mari-Liis from Estonia and Pinar and Ilknur from Turkey. We have been having so much fun together... tomorrow will be another adventure with them! So stay tuned!

Quick Note

I have been very busy in the studio making some new beads, silver bracelets and earrings as well as preparing for my trip to Turkey. I am leaving on Monday! So many loose ends to tidy up. I feel like things are starting to come together and am really looking forward to my trip. I will do my best to update my blog when I get a chance and share some photos of my journey with you.

I also wanted to let you know that I will be putting my Etsy Store in vacation mode while I am gone, so if you need any powders or beads you need to get your order in by Saturday. I can always email my tutorial to you from wherever I am... just drop me an email if you are interested in that.

I will leave you with a cute photo of Towanda..... it got pretty cold here the other day and she decided to go undercover!

Have a wonderful day......
