Just love this photo!

Nicole and I had a great day buying lots of glass....

On our way home we were lucky enough to see this herd of Elk along the Hood Canal. We counted at least 60! What a treat....

Studio time....

Nicole and I had a great time experimenting in the studio today. I played with drilling holes in my beach glass getting them ready to add some silver to them for jewelry and Nicole worked on some silver and copper bracelets... Our work will continue on Thursday. Tomorrow we are going to Frantz Art Glass and to visit Jed and Julie of Double Helix Glass at their studio. Of course all this will happen after we have lunch at The Alderbrook Resort with Pat Frantz.

Hopefully later in the week we will post some photos of our finished products..... we will see!

Have a great day everyone....

Glass Beach

Had a great day today hiking to a local beach known here as glass beach. You can only get to it when there is a low tide. There used to be a dump atop the bluff many years ago so there are all kinds of treasures to be found there. Today we found agates, marbles and a rainbow of colors of sea glass! I want to play with some of the glass and incorporate it into some jewelry.... we'll see what comes of it!

Also along the walk we spotted many different color star fish. Many tide pools with great inspiration to draw from...

If you look close in the top of the tree you can see a pair of bald eagles.....

and another photo of the many star fish ........

It is hard to believe that we are having such wonderful weather and it is still February! I hope that this doesn't mean that there will be water shortages later in the year..... time will tell I guess! I am loving this sunshine.... hoping it will last a few more days for Nicole, my friend from Canada, who is coming here tomorrow. Actually she just lives across the Straights from us but I am hoping for good weather so maybe we can venture back to glass beach and find some new treasures........ stay tuned!

Beautiful Day

I am going to try and get better about posting on my blog. Try and keep you up to date with what's going on in my bead and silversmithing world.

For today a nice photo from the deck. Going to eat some breakfast and then off to the studio to get it all ready for Nicole's visit this coming week! I am hoping for a very productive week with glass and silver. Will keep you updated, I promise!!
